Common sense may be out of vogue, but its value remains even when we have lost our ability to use it. The idea of putting disease organisms into the body through hollow needles, bypassing all of the normal defenses of the human organism like the gastrointestinal and respiratory systems and the skin, in order to make us healthy and resistant to the disease being injected, should not be something we just believe without question.
