The reason I chose this “nurse” venue was because goat milk is so nutritious, and when you ferment it in the form of kefir, it is chock full of just about everything we need to stay healthy. So, when you have Nurse Fiona at your side, the docs can take a hike!
My herd is having babies also. I have nurse vanilla cupcake, trititica, and mommy angel cake. I am waiting for them to give a little more milk than just colostrums so I can test the radioactivity. Everybody looks normal and no birth defects, and also the background radiation here in montana is hovering between 15 and 30 cpm. The hay is right around 20 cpm and less. I expect the milk to be safe when they finally have some to collect. The snow isn’t super hot either and unlike missouri the readings are not in the 50cpm yet here in the high mountains where the head waters originate.

All goats’ eyes are that way, you just see it more clearly because her eyes are such a light shade of blue ;)
