  1. There are so many factors involved, Barbara. Agrobacteria are used because they possess the ability to horizontally transfer DNA. Geneticists remove the part that transfers, then genetically engineer it and put it back into the bacteria then clone the GM agrobacteria. These bacteria are then used to transfer foreign DNA into organisms such as corn. Each of us will react a bit differently to GMOs with similar reactions from people with similar genetic makeup – I agree.

    Great program and I was interested in the agrobacterium portion especially. Many of the poeple calling in seemed to have the same thing. Wonder if by their particular physical makeup they are susceptible to agrobacterium and may be expressing it?
