Wisconsin Claims Bail Violations – Could Arrest Peaceful Farmer
Supporters Stand with Farmer
February 29, 2012–Baraboo, WI – Wisconsin dairy farmer Vernon Hershberger, who has a court hearing March 2 in Baraboo, expects and is prepared for arrest. The Wisconsin Department of Agricultural Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has charged Hershberger with four criminal misdemeanors that could land him in prison for three years with fines of over $10,000. The chargers are all related to Hershberger supplying a private buying club with fresh milk and other farm products.
DATCP charged Hershberger with, among other things, operating a retail food establishment without a license. Hershberger repeatedly denies this, citing that he provides foods only to paid members in a private buying club and is not subject to state food regulations. Currently out on bail, Hershberger has disavowed the terms, which called for him to refrain from providing his members with food, or involving others in doing his farming, by telling the judge, “If our farm stopped feeding its owners’ families, there will be literally hundreds of children who will suffer malnutrition and even starvation. Your honor, I would much rather spend the rest of my life behind bars or even die than to be found guilty of such a gross sin before the Almighty God.”
“I am proud of what I am doing. There is nothing wrong with peacefully providing food to members of my community who want it,” claims Hershberger. “The state might put me in jail, but they cannot stop people from feeding their neighbors.”
Food sovereignty activists plan to be present for what they perceive as a pivotal moment in the movement.
“Our family will be there, standing with Vernon. I never dreamed that the US government would try to prevent citizens from choosing their food and where they get it, much less putting people in jail for doing so. I’ve seen first-hand the destruction of one wonderful farm family and I won’t stand idly by while another family is persecuted,” says mother and activist, Karen Goeben.
At a pre-court rally scheduled for 11:00 in front of the Sauk County Courthouse, 515 Oak Street, Baraboo, supporters will engage in a signing ceremony for their “Declaration of Food Independence.”
Hershberger and other farmers around the country have been and are facing state or federal charges against them for providing fresh foods to wanting customers. In recent months the FDA has conducted long undercover sting operations and raids against peaceful farmers and buying clubs that have resulted in farms shutting down and consumers without access to their food.

While what you said may be true, I’ve yet to see someone win in court using this argument. I’ve known too many who have tried and failed. The courts and judges, while they may know this, are corrupt and you’d have a easier time threading a rope through a needle.
Somehow, the majority of americans don’t care, are ignorant or just plain stupid with beliefs…like waiting for a “messiah” to magically appear to save them. No one is ogin to save anyone at this rate. We’re the only ones who can but it requires huge numbers of intelligent, fearless souls ready to stand the ground.
Utilize edible wild plant books. You’d probably be surprised at the amount of wild edibles in your area. Go for a walk and come home with a salad.
Im not sure it would work now, but a few years ago, a friend of mine who sold raw milk, was threatened by fda or who ever, and she started selling her milk, labeled PET MILK. She sold it as PET MILk. Once the consumer has it, they can legally do with it what they wish. I hope this man doesn’t go to jail.
Dr. Henry Kissinger is reported to have said that those who control the food supply control the people. This is the reason why the State insists on this control. If the State relinquishes control of the food supply, then it cannot act as “god” over the people in place of the one and only true Creator God. Family farmers should be encouraged instead of persecuted because there is greater food security in the diversity provided by the more healthful food produced by them instead of being dependent on foreign food supplies of suspect quality, even enemies who could care less whether we live or die. But understanding what is happening becomes clearer in light of the Marxist UN Agenda 21 and the wilding of great swarths of the countryside and the introduction of wolves where they are not native, and then there is Codex Alimentarius, GMOs, the havoc to the environment caused by industrial farming, smart meters, etc., and ad nauseam. Does anyone detect a pattern here? Could it be that war has been declared on the American people? I believe we could be entering a period foretold in Revelation 13 and 17. We must learn to look to the Creator God for our salvation, forming loving communities where we can and take what means to legally push back that we can.

In 2008, 180 countries declared that their citizens have a fundamental right to food. Only one country voted against this rudimentary right. Can you guess which country that was?
How can the proclaimed land of the free and home of the brave justify such a mean spirited decision? And is it in the best interests of their citizens or in the best interests of someone else?
Instead the United States made it’s intentions perfectly clear and voted against the right to food for it’s citizens. There is no right to food in the USA, nor is there any right to food legislation pending. Pretty simple isn’t it?
I’m wondering if the USA’s refusal to participate in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights provoked the growing grassroots right to food movement and the real food revolution? Is the war on food just beginning to heat up?

I would never wish for a citizen uprising, but in this case & many others these days I would say it’s getting to the point where if we desire to preserve our freedoms, constitutional rights & way of life we definitely need to “RISE UP & SHAKE OFF THE EXISTING GOVERNMENT” IT IS OUR RIGHT AS AMERICANS! Every action to preserve our rights and the rights of farmers is laudable and contributes to the general welfare of the people. We do not need government telling us we can’t eat food from a farm and arriving at that destination by charging farmers with crimes. The bigger crime is the crime against humanity which forces the people to eat genetically engineered foods while hiding that fact from them by refusing to label them.

I would guess it is a matter of principle. Why should we have to resort to lies and subterfuge? Why should we live in a world where we have to deflect the blows these compromised people “reign” down on us? Lies are the tools of the elite, not righteous, upstanding human beings.
If he goes to jail and next month we have martial law they will forget about him quicker than a nat shits. Why doesn’t he just sell milk for pets. It’s no illegal to sell people raw milk for their pets is it? Just label it pet milk and move along.
Its a sad day when the federal government wastes taxpayer money and time on things they have no business regulating. I hope Ron Paul wins so we can scale back unnecessary and intrusive government that does nothing to serve the needs of the people.
