It appears obvious that the massive public backlash against Codex Alimentarius, has not only fallen on the deaf ears of congress, but is set to be ignored. Apparently, hundreds of thousands letters of objection, hundreds of thousands of phone calls, and communications of all types demanding that CODEX be rejected as harmful to the economic growth, the freedom to determine how we will produce food and how we will market it and the right to be free of devastating international agreements that do not have the force of law in the United States……has been rejected in favor of unconstitutional agreements of all kinds, most especially the CODEX Alimentarius.
Now then; If we the people understand that these agreements are harmful and not in the best interest of moving the nation forward…if we the people know that these agreements are in direct violation of our laws and constitution……
WHY IS CONGRESS EVEN CONSIDERING THE CONTENTS OF THIS BILL?
S.510 Sect. 306 Building Capacity Of Foreign Governments with Respect to Food
(c) Plan—-The plan developed under subsection (a) shall include, as appropriate, the following:
(5) Recommendations on whether and how to harmonize requirements under CODEX ALIMENTARIUS.
While this subsection: (c)Plan) also includes recommendations for bilateral and multilateral arrangements and agreements ( notice they do not mention recognized constitutional treaty’s), electronic sharing, mutual recognition of inspection reports, training of foreign governments and food producers for the United States, and provisions for multilateral acceptance of laboratory detection techniques, this entire section is actually the enabling of the implementation of CODEX as each of these additions are in fact, requirements of CODEX.
As Codex has been broadly implemented using terms such as:
- Good farming practices
- Best land management practices
- Best agricultural practices
- Science based practices,
and other such terms, including “sustainability, smart growth” and other misnomers adopted from UN Agenda 21, used to deceptively implement not only the Agenda 21 protocols for controlling the worlds food supply among other things, but also to implement by stealth, CODEX.
Subsection (5) CODEX questions whether or not to implement CODEX, when the writers of this bill are fully aware that implementation has been ongoing since the creation of the World Trade Organization in 1992. The CODEX committees have been meeting in Washington regularly and as recently as June of this year finalizing Codex.
“How” to implement CODEX is the issue at hand, but not as presented in (5). “How” would more likely be, how to bring the US into full compliance with CODEX when we the people are fully aware that this system is intended to reduce standards and regulations in every country unfortunate enough to have adopted this plan for global control of the food supply by multi-national corporations.
It is these same corporations who fund the CODEX through the UN. These corporate stakeholders have a vested profit interest in securing the production, supply and sale of food and ending any competition including small family and independent producers. It is these small producers who will be unable to buy favors and access from corporate federal agencies who also have a profit interest in establishing CODEX and eradication of these producers will occur through CODEX attrition, as planned, thereby ending locally grown foods that would otherwise be available free of genetic engineering, pesticides and herbicides.
Codex Alimentarius is enforceable through the World Trade Organization (WTO). If a country disagrees with or refuses to follow Codex standards or rejects them in total, the WTO applies pressure by withdrawing trade privileges and imposing crippling trade sanctions. Congress refuses to defend the US from the WTO or to withdraw the US from the WTO as an act of self defense.
While the exemption clause (USC 3512(a)(1) and (a)(2) was created to supposedly protect our laws from harmonization to international standards, it has proven to be totally ineffective. The United States has already lost seven trade disputes despite the exemption clause. Due to the enormous pressures put on them by lobbyists from multinational corporations (who contribute millions to congressional campaigns), Congress bowed to pressure and changed U.S. laws.
CODEX, although its PR pages make it sound wonderful for the planet, is instead a system to end the human right to foods of our choice, produced by us, and purchased, exchanged, bartered, and consumed by us free from corporate interference and from unnecessary government regulation and control.
The threat of the World Trade Organization
Countries may adopt higher domestic standards than those approved by Codex, but those standards are considered a trade violation when challenged in the WTO, where the measures for trade-rule violations are Codex standards.
No country can be forced to drop more precautionary standards, but failure to do so will result in economic penalties being imposed by the WTO. However, neither the WTO nor other global agencies penalize countries that adopt standards less protective than those that Codex provides.
The American public is fully aware that the system referred to as CODEX Alimentarius, is one designed to remove the right of the people to grow, harvest and consume the foods of their choice, for no other reason than to benefit the financiers of the global organization known as CODEX, and to implement a global takeover of the food production and supply for the benefit of those same financiers; multi-national corporations.
It is unfortunate that so many of us have come to distrust our own government, our own elected representatives and senators. What is far more unfortunate is that this distrust has been so well earned by these same elected officials.
