Farm Wars

Once again, the federal government proves itself as trustworthy as a two-headed rattler on methamphetamine.

“Yucca Mountain and surrounding lands were central in the lives of the Western Shoshone and Southern Paiute peoples, who shared them for religious ceremonies, resource uses, and social events; Yucca Mountain continues to be considered sacred by the Shoshone people living today.” (Wikipedia)

So sacred in fact, that the U.S. Government wants to place a nuclear waste dump smack dab in the middle of it. Yep. You heard me. Land sacred to the tribes, chock full of spent nuclear waste. How does that grab you?

PIC 1 Design(Wikipedia)

“There is ongoing debate about whether Yucca Mountain is the nation’s best place for a nuclear waste repository. The DOE maintains that Yucca Mountain was selected because it was consistently ranked as the site that possessed the best technical and scientific characteristics to serve as a repository. The Department says that Yucca Mountain is a good place to store waste because the repository would be:

  • In a desert location
  • Isolated away from population centers (Las Vegas, the nearest metropolitan area, is 90 miles away)
  • Secured 1,000 feet under the surface
  • In a closed hydrologic basin
  • Surrounded by federal land
  • Protected by natural geologic barriers
  • Protected by robust engineered barriers and a flexible design”

(Yucca Mountain)

What could possibly go wrong? Let me count the ways:

  1. It is in an active earthquake area with at least 33 earthquake faults in and around the site.
  2. There are volcanic cinder cones near the site.
  3. It is above the aquifer, and any faults and fractures could cause that water to be contaminated with nuclear waste.
  4. There is hydrothermal activity at the site.

And this is the best site that they could think of? The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) hasn’t made a final decision yet, but this site is the only player in contention.

“In any event, the NRC has not made a final decision on the repository license application, but the agency could easily vote on DOE’S application to build the repository once environmental reviews are complete, land and water issues are resolved, and after a series of lengthy and complex hearings on challenges from third parties are entertained.”  (Yucca Mountain)

What happens when the amount of nuclear waste that we generate exceeds the available ‘safe’ space to contain it? The following picture shows the current storage areas for nuclear waste.

PIC 2 Waste Locations(Wikipedia)

And what happens when the railways and highways used to transport it are impacted by an accident? The following picture shows the intended route to the proposed Yucca Mountain final storage facility that would house the waste from the other locations.

PIC 3 Route(Wikipedia)

What happens to the surrounding communities when they are flooded with a nuclear accident resulting from the transportation to Yucca Mountain? Don’t think for one minute that this cannot happen. It can and it will. And the contamination will be widespread with no do-over. We are quite literally playing with fire when we decide that the only way for Americans to have ‘cheap’ energy is to play Russian Roulette with spent nuclear waste.

This is what we get for not paying attention to who is running this country or any other. These imbeciles do NOT know any more about how to run and maintain the countries than they know how to cut their own fingernails. This nuclear and gmo thing is our doom.
The earth’s crust is not stable and conducive for this. All we can do now is pray, because the filth that allows this is not going to give up their money that they make from it.

  2. abinico warez says:

When all the cost (I.E. externalities) of nuclear power are considered it is obvious that nuclear power is not economically viable.

  3. walter baagoe says:

Send nuclear waste to a land that is not a sovereign nation, where no one
lives permanently and is remote from all nations. The center of Antarctica deep under the mountains and the ice.

  4. meg wilder says:

send the nuke waste in outer space!!!!! duh!!!!

  5. richard braverman says:

Firstly, the defacto “United States Government” owned by the Bankers and run by the Bankers does not care at all about the long term health or success of the American people. We are here just to serve there needs, i.e. buy their products, fight their wars, watch their entertainment, believe their BS.

    So why Nuclear Energy (or how to Boil water with radioactive material)? Because (1) it produces waste that can be used for weapons; (2) it is a justification to start wars with other people (3) it adds to the debt; (4) it looks and sounds high tech to keep us Mesmerized; and (5) they really want to depopulate the earth;

So why Yucca Mountains? Because being ethnically insensitive is their MO. WE own the world. We are superior. We do not care what you think. We can defile the Black Hills of South Dakota, we can defile your large earthen religious mounds, we can defile your religion, we can defile your culture, hell we can defile churches, mosques, nations.

Resist. Resist. Geronimo Lives in everyone

  6. Abe says:

The sad thing is Tesla made the “Free Energy” machine over 100 years ago. Nuclear energy like GMO’s is that can of worms that NEVER should of been opened! If Three Mile Island hasn’t taught us anything, Chernobyl should have.

  7. George H says:

While the US has suppressed 4,000 patents on energy technology (in the name of National Security of course) it has permitted a cabal of giant energy companies to foist the dangers of atomic energy on an unsuspecting world. And with the exceedingly dangerous infrastructure of nuclear reactors proliferating across the globe, the inevitable mountains of toxic nuclear waste must be dealt with, and what better dIsposal place in the US than sacred tribal lands. Hell, suppressing energy technologies and suppressing First Nation’s people goes hand in hand with the ruling elites. And anyway, what’s good for Business is good for Amerika. And you know how I know that’s true. Because a two headed rattler on methamphetamine told me so.
