LabDiet with Glyphosate

Purina LabDiets, the laboratory diets used exclusively by scientists around the world for toxicology testing are contaminated by Glyphosate. What does this mean? It means that each and every toxicological study ever conducted that has used this feed for its studies is null and void ever since the introduction and widespread use of the herbicide, Glyphosate.

In an exclusive interview with Dr. Anthony Samsel, I asked if this was the feed used most by the scientific community at large. He had this to say:

Yes almost exclusively and yes, these are the standard lab diets for rats, mice, rabbits, and other rodents.  That’s why I tested these 3 formulations.  The Purina diets were used in all of the Monsanto studies.  However, that was before they were using glyphosate on food and grain crops.  So, all of the findings in the Monsanto secret studies are still valid, with the exception of the organophosphate pesticide contamination known to be used at the time as residues on crop ingredients. Their presence could have been enhanced by the glyphosate which was then being tested.”

However, since the inception of the use of glyphosate on GM crops and the use of it for desiccation, the picture has changed by its presence in lab chow diets and this is very problematic.  Glyphosate is a synergist with other chemicals, a chelator and a hormone at low levels, so results that have been seen in recent years have definitely been influenced by the presence of glyphosate residues in animal studies using these chows.

Glyphosate disrupts immune system functionality by destroying important bacterial species which manufacture necessary biomolecules including vitamins, fatty acids, essential amino acids like Tryptophan, Phenylalanine , Tyrosine, Methionine and more. It also disrupts CYP 450 enzymes and other enzymes like glutathione S transferase which are first line defenses against xenobiotic chemicals that we are exposed to on a daily basis.

Feeding glyphosate contaminated laboratory diets to test animals is absolutely unacceptable.  It does not constitute good laboratory practice (GLP).  It is tantamount to laboratory or forensic misconduct, or the same as a technician contaminating the control of an experiment which has to be reported to the laboratory director for appropriate action under GLP protocol.  This also brings up another issue concerning GLP and that is the use of historical controls used to cancel out inconvenient findings in laboratory experiments.  Such noise introduced into an experiment is the same as the intentional or unintentional contamination of a laboratory experiment, as with glyphosate contaminating animal studies.  Such practices are not GLP and must be banned from science.

Laboratory diets should be tested for the presence of not only glyphosate, but glufosinate and other herbicides, chlorothalonil (Daconil) the most widely used fungicide as well as neonicotinoids like imidacloprid, clothianidin and thiamethoxam and or other chemicals known or registered and approved for use on the raw ingredients used in the formulation of the animal chows.

Anthony Samsel

Dr. Samsel conducted an independent experiment and had the following feeds that are routinely used by scientists around the world tested for Glyphosate contamination. They all failed the purity test. Each and every one is contaminated with Glyphosate. Here are Dr. Samsel’s test results:

Laboratory Report      Date June 15, 2015

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Analysis of Glyphosate:

PURINA RAT CHOW 5002 (.65ppm Glyphosate contamination)

Analyte        Result   Units    Note

Glyphosate   0.65       mg/Kg  MDL: 0.05 mg/Kg (ppm)

AMPA            0.35

PURINA CHOW 5K75 (.57ppm Glyphosate contamination)

Analyte        Result   Units    Note

Glyphosate   0.57       mg/Kg  MDL: 0.05 mg/Kg (ppm)

AMPA            0.27

PURINA CHOW 5LG3 (.37ppm Glyphosate contamination)

Glyphosate   0.37       mg/Kg  MDL: 0.05 mg/Kg (ppm)

AMPA            0.10

Since testing for Glyphosate as a contaminant in our laboratory feeds is not required, Purina can make the following statement:

Certified Rodent Diet 5002*

D E S C R I P T I O N

Certified Rodent Diet is a formulation that has yielded highly favorable results for the maintenance, growth and reproduction of rats and mice. This diet is formulated using managed formulation, delivering Constant Nutrition®. This is paired with the selection of highest quality ingredients to assure minimal inherent biological variation in long-term studies. A sample of this product will have been assayed and approved prior to shipment to assure GLP compliance.

Features and Benefits

  • Managed Formulation delivers Constant Nutrition®
  • High quality animal protein added to create a superior balance of amino acids for optimum performance
  • Each package is assayed for environmental contaminants prior to shipment
  • Preanalysis monitoring, Constant Nutrition® formulation, along with selection of highest quality ingredients, assures maximum diet control
  • Fulfills GLP requirements

If you don’t test for it, you don’t have to admit that it is there. And you don’t have to admit that each and every study done with contaminated feed yields inaccurate results due to that contamination. And you can say that you are compliant with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), the standards upon which our scientific community bases its findings in all testing situations. And this is across the board:

Mutual Acceptance of Data (MAD)

The testing of chemicals is labour-intensive and expensive. Often the same chemicals are being tested and assessed in several countries. The OECD Council therefore adopted a Council Decision* in 1981 – on Mutual Acceptance of Data (MAD) – stating that test data generated in any member country in accordance with OECD Test Guidelines and Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) shall be accepted in other member countries for assessment purposes and other uses relating to the protection of human health and the environment.

A further Council Act was adopted in 1989 to provide assurance that the data are indeed developed in compliance with the Principles of GLP.  This Council Decision-Recommendation on Compliance with GLP establishes procedures for monitoring GLP compliance through government inspections and study audits as well as a framework for international liaison among monitoring and data-receiving authorities.

A 1997 Council Decision on the Adherence of Non-Member countries to the Council Acts related to the Mutual Acceptance of Data in the Assessment of Chemicals sets out a step-wise procedure for non-OECD countries to take part as full members in this system.

This is what Purina does test for:

Contaminant Analysis of Certified Labdiet® Products Over 15-Year Period

Contaminant Analysis Statement

Table 5A Table 5B Table 5C Table 5D(Source: Nutrient and Contaminant Levels in LabDiet® Certified Laboratory Animal Feeds 2010)

It is time for the GLP and OECD protocols to be updated to include routine testing for Glyphosate contamination, and all testing done previously with the contaminated feed re-evaluated in light of this new information.

Feeding glyphosate contaminated laboratory diets to test animals is absolutely unacceptable.  It does not constitute good laboratory practice (GLP).  It is tantamount to laboratory or forensic misconduct. (Anthony Samsel)

STOP POISONING US AND ALL LIVING THINGS. Glyphosate is just one arrow in the eugenicist’s quiver. As bad as it is, it’s just one facet of the DEATH MACHINE. While vaccines, fluoridated water, chemtrails, gmos etc are the actual physical poisons that we are being exposed to, the coming NWO is the BIG DEATH MACHINE that will force us to take all this poison. So BANNING GLYPHOSATE is just the first step, but a very important first step, but then it must be followed up ultimately with BANNING THE NWO, not only for our sake, but for our children, and our children’s children sake. So KILL GLYPHOSATE-KILL THE DEATH MACHINE– “DEUS VULT”

Great article, and your right it shouldn’t be allowed. With the TPP on its way to passing we will be exporting more of this crap to more country’s hence more contaminated foods. I used to buy some non organic imports from Europe since they didn’t grow much gmo but that will end soon, like Belgium chocolate. Anyhow its really sad to see all this happening and know there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it….. super pathetic really!

  3. Robin Gaura says:

    Jon,
Check out I-SIS website, about China. This is big news, as they are charging Monsanto with fraud and biowarfare, and their own officials with corruption and collusion. What happens when China does´t buy 70 million tons of GMO soy every year?
    Looks like breakthrough time!
    Best,
    Robin

It’s no longer a conspiracy theory, but a conspiracy fact. Now’s the time to bring all these chickens to there new home to roost! Folsom sounds like a nice happy place for them!
