BarbBarb’s Note: This should scare the GMOs out of you. Stealth GMOs with no oversight, no labeling, no nothing. Just called “natural” and most likely, in the future, “organic.” Hey, what’s to stop them? Labeling? How do you label something if you don’t know it exists?

The UK’s  Advisory Committee on Releases to the Environment (ACRE), a part of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), reviewed this product back in 2011 and concluded:

ACRE considers that herbicide tolerant (HT) oilseed rape plants produced by Cibus LLC have been developed using a form of mutagenesis. It considers that this technique does not involve the use of recombinant nucleic acid molecules. Consequently, the HT oilseed rape plants could be excluded from the GMO Deliberate Release legislation in accordance with Annex 1B of Directive 2001/18/EC.

In other words, an organism that’s been genetically mutated by ODM/RTDS is not being treated by the government as a genetically modified organism!

So, by all means, let’s concentrate on labeling. Yeah! It’s working great so far… uh huh…

Gaia Health

Genetically modified organisms are a terrifying development when we know they exist, but there’s a new system of creating GMOs that’s getting a complete pass. By fiat, our governments are allowing a process that produces genetically modified ‘foods’ for sale with absolutely no oversight. They can be called natural, or simply not labeled. Nothing, absolutely nothing, interferes with their introduction into the food supply.

by Heidi Stevenson

Genetic engineering means changing the genetic material of a living plant, fungus, or animal. What we’ve been fighting is merely one type, recombinant DNA, in which the gene from one species is transplanted into another. But it isn’t the only way to change genes. Another technique has been developed and patented, technically called oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis (ODM), but branded Rapid Transit Development System (RTDS) by Cibus, of San Diego, California.

A type of rapeseed has already been developed using this technique.

This technique is sliding around the concerns of genetically engineered plants and animals by using a technique different from recombinant DNA.

New Zealand has taken an equivalent stance. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) told Cibus back in 2004 that they could go ahead with no need to go through an approval process and absolutely no oversight!

Cibus has filed for patents from the EU on several crops, including:

  • Glyphosate-tolerant crops, including corn, wheat, rice, barley, soybean, cotton, sugarbeet, oilseed rape, canola, flax, sunflower, potato, tobacco, tomato, alfalfa, poplar, pine, eucalyptus, apple, lettuce, peas, lentils, grape, turf grasses and Brassica species (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, etc.).
  • Sulfonylurea herbicide-tolerant canola/rapeseed.

These crops are being sold as natural! They are even claiming that these genetically engineered crops were developed using a technique that’s been in use since World War II, which is obviously untrue. READ MORE…

  1. TTS, This is not merely breeding. This is another type of genetic engineering method performed in a lab called oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis:

“Oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis involves the incorporation of a mutant oligonucleotide into one strand of plasmid DNA. After DNA replication of this heteroduplex plasmid, any progeny plasmids that arise by replication of the wild-type strand will be homozygous for the wild-type allele, and any plasmids that arise by replication of the mutant strand will be homozygous for the mutant allele. The resulting population of plasmids contains both wild-type and mutant plasmids that may only differ by a single base-pair mutation in a sequence which lacks an easily assayed phenotype. Furthermore, when introduced into cells the mismatch repair system often repairs the mutated base to the complementary base in the wild-type strand before it has a chance to replicate, so the mutant plasmids are underrepresented relative to the wild-type plasmids. The trick to oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis is to identify the desired mutants.

There are many different methods of oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis, but most are minor variations on two ways of enriching for the desired mutant plasmids: (1) methods which destroy the wild-type template strand of DNA and thus favor replication of the mutant strand, and (2) methods which simply allow the wild-type and mutant strands of DNA an equal chance of replicating. The dut ung method is an example of the first approach, and the mutS method is an example of the second approach.” http://www.sci.sdsu.edu/~smalo.....s/SDM.html

Not a fan of GMOs, but if the genetic information is not being modified (DNA, RNA), it’s not a GMO, PERIOD. Isn’t this a farm publication? It’s called plant breeding. Breeding has been done commercially since WWII and that is exactly what company is referring to. Plant breeding has been done for thousands of years non-commercially and is the art and science of changing the genetics of plants by breeding in order to produce desired characteristics, including tolerance to herbicide.

The ones who learn about amalgams, fluoride, chemtrails, vaccines, GM food and nuclear fallout and avoid this stuff will make it, but others won’t. That’s the way it is and always will be. It is sad, but it’s the same thing with wars. If you’re not going to get ruthless you might want to consider getting out of here. If Fukushima collapses and if there is another quake it will and the USA will be flooded with radiation and your land will be worthless for 1000 years

  4. gmo2ashes says:

The vast fields of GMO crops grown in the USA and elsewhere are more vulnerable to fire during certain times of the year. If I were a dedicated eco-hero determined to sterilize the biosphere of GMOs, I would coordinate and prioritize burns by their field size, plant/water ratio during summer/drought, their pre-pollination stage and their PR news value.

  5. Trent Murdock says:

People are going to have to grow their food inside greenhouses to avoid being contaminated by GM crops. It’s not safe to eat crops at farmers markets anymore.

  6. gmo2ashes says:

Here’s a novel idea: forget about labeling GMOs.

Genetically engineered plant varieties cannot coexist alongside natural-bred varieties; this is a given. Through cross-pollination, GE plants will eventually contaminate and overcome non-GE varieties. There is no safe barrier between the two. You can’t have both type plants and expect labeling to save you or prevent destruction of the food chain.

There can be no compromise or negotiation with a murderer who intends to kill you. You flee, fight back and prevail, or die. Ultimately, their global agenda is genocide (under the cloak of greed). Monsanto and its biotech counterparts intend to kill you – and unless you fight back and destroy them completely, they will succeed.

The time for dialogue, debate and protest has long passed. We are witnessing the accelerated slow-kill of the human race. We are under attack on all sides from an enemy within. We exist in a war zone where each day is spent navigating a minefield of deadly booby traps.

People are mimics; they can be acclimated to any atrocity. Look at aspartame; it’s a poison, yet it’s in practically everything the public eats. And people have been conditioned to eat it. Did labeling stop this mass poisoning? No.

This might sound extreme – well, because it is – and now a very necessary extreme … if more examples of covert destruction of GMO crops, together with WHY it’s important to do so – were to be published across the Internet – people being the mimics that they are, more of them would be emboldened and replicate this sane behavior in their defense against the biotechs that intend to, and will damage the food chain beyond repair.

Barb, My Uncles farm 7,000 acres and they will usually plant half in soybeans. Since they can’t use the seeds that harvest to plant the next crop that would only cost them $7 an acres, but now cost $65 You can see the huge different having to plant 3,500 acres of ours

I did a copy and paste from my post on one of your other stories. I hope people take the time to learn about the GMO’s those rat bastards are spraying on us!! People are so clueless about this (GMO) technology. This should scare the ever lovin shit out of you!! It surely does out of me!! I’m no pussy either!! I was one of Uncle Sams Misguided Children!! I know what makes the grass grow!

    Were being systematically exterminated!!

I wonder how many know about Dr. Mary’s Monkey (Dr. Mary Stewart)?? I got the sugar cube back in 1959!! If you have a couple hours, I hope you listen to this and learn about the (Simian Virus 40) Polio vaccine!! Scarey?? Damn straight!!

Now that it’s harvest season, it would be good to talk with you local foodstores higher ups. Like the one that buys local produce. We had Organic corn on the cob the other day for 10 cents an ear. Bought my limit and froze it! All the local produce in our store is organic, but not labelled as such. I had to laugh when I talked to the buyer the otherday and told him I was glad to see that they did label some things as GMO free. The last few months I have been seeing more GMO free products. I’m using the local food shelf also. It’s tough, but you can find some organics. At least here we get to pick and choose what we take. I’ve been seeing a lot of organic canned foods from companies I’ve never heard of before.

I’ve gotten this from air crap today. GMO nano particles in the air. Horrifying!! I hope people can find the time to see both videos here.

An analysis of previous research in the U.S. shows that Morgellons intelligent, self-replicating nano-machines with sensors should be have the genetically modified material and split DNA / RNA strands. You should use the bioelectric energy of the body as an energy source and respond to ELF waves and EL signals.

    Hi Barbara,
yeah you can add Clearfield crops to this list, and yes, already in wide use on aus lands:-(
the package info is about the same re caveats rights regs as all the GMO upfront ones. ALL rights are the companies and contamination sourced back to theirs or saving seed is illegal and fines etc ensue.
they are real cagey re describing how they mutate the seeds implying a combo of irradiated mutation or chemical mutants they can breed from.
FSANZ allows this muck quite happily.
because GMO has become only lab fiddled added genes NOT any other means, so our own descriptors have been carefully used against us in this area.no gene insertion = not gmo to their definitions.
the only way to avoid it is avoid seed from farms that use it, and finding that out for the average consumer, is impossible.
they do wheat, so I reckon a lot of the so called celiac and IBS theyre blaming wheat on -is directly related to this GM’d by stealth product.
