Ex genetic engineer and microbiologist Thierry Vrain educates about potential health problems of GM foods.
GM agriculture is failing on all counts while hazards to health and the environment are coming to light. Opposition to GMOs is gaining momentum worldwide but the expansionist GM corporate agenda continues undiminished. GM agriculture is a recipe for disaster as this report will make clear. It is also standing in the way of the shift to sustainable agriculture already taking place in local communities all over the world that can truly enable people to feed themselves in times of climate change. Take action now to ban environmental releases of GMOs, locally in communities, villages, towns, municipalities, regions, as well as nationally and globally. We the people need to reclaim our food and seed sovereignty from the corporate empire before they destroy our food and farming irreversibly.
Will labeling GMO food stop the type of destruction and environmental pollution caused by growing GMO crops and trees? No. While I am not against labeling and know that good people are spending their lives on it, I also realize that there is a bigger picture. Only a ban will stop the spread of GMOs. We assume that labeling will automatically be the end-all be-all because people will see the label and not buy GMOs. NOT! Most will buy the hype that it is safe, and good for us. Maybe we should just put it in a pill, or mainline it. Oh, wait, we are…
A groundbreaking new study shows that pigs were harmed by the consumption of feed containing genetically modified (GM) crops. GM-fed females had on average a 25% heavier uterus than non-GM-fed females, a possible indicator of disease that requires further investigation. Also, the level of severe inflammation in stomachs was markedly higher in pigs fed on the GM diet. The research results were striking and statistically significant.
A public crowd-funding campaign has been launched by a starter Biotech company Genome Compiler, to create bioengineered glow-in-the-dark plants that will be given away to donors. This will be the first organism created by synthetic biology techniques to ever be released into the wild and most astonishingly, it will bypass any regulatory approval procedures in the process.
