Ah yes! Immortality. No eating, no breathing, no drinking, no sleeping. What more could we possibly want? “Not having a body makes you differently abled, not sub-human.”
The truth is, thousands and thousands of genetic experiments will continue to be performed, in the dark, based on a very small amount of knowledge. The grotesque results will be cast aside as unfortunate casualties in the march toward The New World. DNA isn’t the key to “a better human.” Individual freedom and power are, and they launch a process of living and thinking and imagining and creating that can’t be short-circuited. Can’t be synthesized or fabricated.
Consider the psychiatric drugs like Zoloft and Paxil. You know, the drugs that scramble neurotransmitters like eggs in a cheap diner, and cause some people to commit suicide or randomly kill others. Now multiply the uncertainty of that effect by a hundred or a thousand, when wholesale genetic changes are enacted.
There is nothing wrong with technology when it is used as a tool for accomplishing worthy goals. However, there is a big difference between using it in a positive, beneficial way, and as a manipulative tool to create terminal dependence as a way of life.
Introduce genetic alteration into all species of life. Plants and animals. If GMO science is unpredictable and harmful, when it comes to food crops, oh well, try a different pattern of genetic insertion and see what that brings. It’s all an experiment, and eventually, something better will come of it.
